Environmental Scientist/Technician

 

Toronto Office

The Toronto office has an immediate opening for an environmental scientist, engineer or technician, with the following duties:

  • conducting research and site walkovers for Phase I environmental site assessments;
  • supervision of drilling, test pitting and/or other sampling methods (Phase II site assessments) at a variety of public and private-sector sites;
  • coordination and supervision of contractors for test pitting, underground tank removal, remediation of contaminated soil;
  • collection of soil, groundwater and other media samples by various methods and liaison with external analytical laboratories;
  • monitoring, maintenance and operation of in situ remediation systems;
  • tabulating and interpretation of laboratory analysis results and hydrogeologic information;
  • data interpretation, report and proposal preparation;
  • assisting in client development, and other office and corporate tasks as they arise.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology or Engineering, with knowledge of geology and hydrogeology, environmental chemistry, sampling and analysis and surveying. Previous experience is not required, but would be an asset. Candidates must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license (Class G) as the position involves some travel around Ontario.
