Branch Manager - Ottawa Office

The Terrapex Ottawa office is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee and grow the office, as well as provide senior technical expertise and guidance to staff.
The duties of the position include:
- management of Phase I and II environmental site assessments and remediations, including completion of Records of Site Condition;
- providing QA/QC and senior review of technical reports and proposals;
- seeking out and responding to Requests for Proposals, developing new business and maintaining existing clients;
- monitoring and enabling the efficient and profitable operation of the Branch Office;
- provision of technical expertise, supervision and mentoring to all staff in the office;
- monitoring and facilitating the completion of all work by office staff in accordance with Terrapex policies and procedures;
- managing staff and resource allocation within the Branch Office, with support from corporate Human Resources;
- overseeing the administration of the Branch Office with support from the corporate Operations Manager;
- participating in the development of corporate goals, strategies, and planning, and monitoring and reporting on Branch Office activity as it pertains to such matters;
- acting as the main Branch Office contact for Corporate Management, staff from other offices, new clients and other interested parties.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of fifteen years experience in the environmental consulting industry (preferably in the Ottawa area), P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation, a strong technical background, knowledge of environmental regulations and excellent supervisory, business development and communication skills. We are looking for candidates who are motivated to grow the office while maintaining the level of quality work and integrity for which Terrapex is known.
Preferred start date: September 2010 (flexible)
