Waste Audits and Work Plans
As per Ontario Regulation 102/94, 103/94 and 104/94, large facilities and construction/demolition sites are required to annually evaluate their waste management and recycling practices by way of waste audits and waste reduction work plans.
The purposes of waste audits are to identify, quantify and analyze the composition of non-hazardous solid waste streams generated by individual and/or collective functional areas within an organization. Waste audit findings report the compliance status with respect to the above regulations, help determine a generator’s ability to reduce, reuse and recycle materials from the existing waste streams, strengthen recycling initiatives, as well as provide the foundation for waste reduction work plans.
Terrapex staff have conducted waste audits and prepared waste reduction work plans for a variety of clients which include post secondary institutions, demolition and construction sites as well as automotive parts and chemical manufacturers. |
