On November 22, 2017 the New Eva’s Phoenix redevelopment at 60 Brant Street, Toronto, Ontario was awarded the 2017 Brownie Award for Category 4: REBUILD – Redevelopment at the Local Scale at the Canadian Brownfield Network’s (CBN’s) 18th annual Brownie Awards gala. The project was undertaken by Build Toronto Inc. and transformed a former industrial building occupying the entire property footprint into a residential shelter for homeless youth. Terrapex completed a risk assessment and developed risk mitigation measures that allowed this heritage structure to be preserved/maintained by incorporating the existing building features into the future youth home design.

Mr. Peter Sutton of Terrapex accepted the award on behalf of the project team and can be seen here with Mr. Eric Pringle of the Canadian Brownfield Network and Mr. Todd Latham of Actual Media
